Abstract

Policy Brief Number 1 draws on experiences of farmers, fishers, local, district, state and national government and non-governmental stakeholders supported by the UK Government DFID Natural Resources Systems Program project R8100 'Investigating Improved Policy on Aquaculture Service Provision to Poor People', which ran from March 2002 to April 2003, to identify, test and promote mechanisms for the delivery of improved rural services critical to the development of rural livelihoods, with emphasis on services in support of aquaculture.
