Abstract

The first phase identified 10 promising countries and 3 technologies for more in-depth investigation:

  • anaerobic digestion-to-internal combustion engine
  • gasification-to-internal combustion engine
  • combustion-to-steam turbine.

This phase aims to prioritise particular ‘Technology Value Chains’ (TVCs) that combine these technologies with certain feedstocks and end uses, and offer potential for replication. The next phase will explore TVCs in more depth through a case study approach, in order to identify specific opportunities for research-led innovation.
