Barriers to the development of aquaculture in sub-saharan Africa. Final project report.
Abstract
The project objectives were to produce a comprehensive literature survey on socioeconomic aspects of aquaculture in sub-Saharan Africa, to establish the present state of knowledge of factors affecting the successful introduction of aquaculture to Africa, to produce a proposal for field-based research, and to produce an annotated bibliography of works covering socioeconomic and sociocultural aspects of aquaculture development. Work carried out during the project is described and the findings are reported. An annotated bibliography and a literature review were produced.
