Barriers to access immunization services: a study in Murshidabad, West Bengal

Abstract

West Bengal has demonstrated an impressive record of progress in immunization coverage. Nevertheless there are difficult pockets where severe barriers to accessing public health services exist. This research brief attempts to explore the role of these barriers based on the outcomes of a study recently carried out in Murshidabad, one of the most backward districts of India. Policy implications are presented.
