Bangladesh PRA Report.

Abstract

In order to understand the livelihood strategies, asset patterns, level of dependence on fisheries and aquatic resources, recent trends, vulnerabilities, their problems and priorities, different fisheries stakeholders in 8 representative environments in Bangladesh took part in focus group discussions and Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) exercises. In each case separate meetings were held with people from one class of stakeholder. Here the focus is on the most important stakeholder categories and environments: full-time fishers, subsistence fishers and fish traders in main river, deeply flooded (haor), seasonal floodplain and reservoir environments.
