To what extent are horticultural producers and traders in South Africa using e-commerce to conduct their business? This paper summarises the results of a survey of 18 firms and organisations active in the horticultural export sector. Existing business relationships based on personal contact and experience are well entrenched. The applications used by the respondents, particularly email, reinforce rather than supplant such relationships.
