Appendix 2. Testing Hypotheses.

Abstract

This study set out to test hypotheses about four types of pro-poor initiatives that might be undertaken in less developed countries. These types, presented in this appendix as four 'Tracks' along which leaders may proceed, are listed and followed by the hypotheses. It then comments briefly on the extent to which the three politicians (from India, Brazil and Uganda) analysed in the project 'Politiking for the Poor: Senior Leaders Political Management of Pro-Poor Initiatives in an era of Centrists', operated along the various 'Tracks'. Thereafter, the hypotheses are considered in some detail.
