Agriculture and Food Insecurity Risk Management (AFIRM): A NEPAD/CAADP Perspective
Abstract
Presentation given at FAO's Strengthening Coherence between Agriculture and Social Protection - Regional Consultative Workshop. 25-26 November 2014, Cape Town, South Africa. Describes how the AFIRM programme fits into the African Union's CAADP, Africa's policy framework for agricultural transformation, wealth creation, food security and nutrition, economic growth and prosperity for all. The presentation shows what the programme entails for various African regions over the next five years, its role in social protection and linkages with the FAO's agriculture social protection linkages.
