Abstract

The South African National Carbon Sink Assessment provided an unprecedented opportunity to explore the nature of terrestrial carbon stocks and fluxes at a national scale and to evaluate all climate change mitigation opportunities within the agriculture, forestry and other land use (AFOLU) sector. This is a summary based on the more detailed synopsis report.

This report has been produced for Evidence on Demand with the assistance of the UK Department for International Development (DFID) contracted through the Climate, Environment, Infrastructure and Livelihoods Professional Evidence and Applied Knowledge Services (CEIL PEAKS) programme, jointly managed by DAI (which incorporates HTSPE Limited) and IMC Worldwide Limited.
