A Case Study of Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) Implementation in Kenya.

Abstract

It is frequently noted that there are major gaps between health policies laid down on paper by governments and their ministries, and the reality on the ground. There is concern that policies with the potential to improve equity of health outcomes may face particular implementation challenges. This research investigates these issues through a study of the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) in Kenya. The aim is to identify recommendations to improve the delivery of IMCI and other health sector policies.
