You must get permission from the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) to hold an event on Derry City Walls.

The Derry City Walls are a protected historic monument.

How to apply

Your application should include details such as:

  • purpose of the event
  • start and end times
  • expected crowd size
  • contact details for the event managers

You must also provide proposals for:

  • event management
  • crowd control
  • traffic management
  • temporary services required eg staging
  • the alcohol policy
  • methods of promotion
  • the impacts on residents and businesses not directly involved in the event
  • post event clean-up

Applications should be accompanied by a copy of your insurance certificate.

Your application should be sent to NIEA well in advance of the proposed event as events cannot proceed on the Walls without written permission from NIEA.
