FOI-00041511 Fully Met Regarding the trial of rental e-scooters by the company Zipp mobility which has now come to an end. When were the government informed that Zipp Mobility had had their insurance withdrawn? When were the trials, that were happening across the country, stopped? (A date by area/authority please). What actions did the DfT take to make sure that these trials were stopped as soon as they became aware that Zipp Mobility had no insurance? What noise regulations does the DfT require vessels to meet when operating in UK waters? I am particularly interested in establishing what limitations are in play when compared to road vehicles. High speed craft operating on the River Thames emit considerable amounts of propulsion noise, which could be considered to be a statutory nuisance.
