FOI 180703003
In reference to the breakdown of jurisdiction complaints in the Employment Tribunal Statistics, table ET.1. Under the Freedom of Information Act, I would like to know: A breakdown of jurisdictional complaints for single claims by jurisdiction each year. For example, the number of single claims for ‘sex discrimination’; the ...number of single claims for ‘equal pay’; etc. I understand the current data published in table ET.1 includes jurisdictional complaints relating to both single and multiple claims cases. Please provide the data for each of the last five years with a year-end 30th June, or whichever year-end is most convenient. If you cannot provide data for each of the last five years, then please data for each of the last three years. If that is not possible, then please data for each of the most recent two years. If it looks like this request will not be possible under the time restrictions of the FOIA, or if any aspect of my request is unclear, then please do contact me.

Notes
1) A claim may be brought under more than one jurisdiction or subsequently amended or clarified in the course of proceedings but will be counted only once.
2) The 'Sex Discrimination' jurisdiction includes complaints made in relation to the protected characteristics 'Sex', 'Marriage and Civil Partnership' and 'Gender Reassignment'.
3) This includes the jurisdiction for unfair dismissal as a result of a transfer of an undertaking, which was previously shown separately.
4) With the automation of the application receipt process a large number of claims were marked as unallocated and therefore recorded as "Others" pending validation of the claim. A large proportion of these jurisdictional complaints have now been re-assigned to the appropriate jurisdictional complaint/s since publication of the quarterly staistics.
p Provisional data and subject to further change.
All data was taken from the Employment Tribunals Central database and as such is management information that is provisional and subject to change.
The above data was generated on a different date to the information contained in quarterly published statistics and was produced specifically for this enquiry.
Although care is taken when processing and analysing the data, the details are subject to inaccuracies inherent in any large-scale recording system, and is the best data that is available at the time of publication.
