If you operate a day care setting for children under the age of eight years on non-domestic premises for more than two hours in any one day and more than five days per year in Wales, you must be registered with Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW).
Applications for registration must contain specific information and on you, your premises, any person who may be on your premises, and your arrangements for day care.
Registration may be refused if you don’t comply with certain criteria, and will be refused if you are disqualified from registration - eg if you are barred from regulated activity relating to children. If registration is granted, you must comply with any conditions attached to the registration.
At any time, CSSIW can notify you of any action you must take to ensure compliance with the requirement to register, registration conditions, legislation, regulations or the National Minimum Standards for Regulated Child Care.
Failure to comply with the above may result in enforcement action.
