Bournemouth War Memorial Homes

Bournemouth War Memorial Homes is a charity that provides accommodation to veterans in need.

About Bournemouth War Memorial Homes

Founded in 1948 to provide housing for those returning from World War 2, Bournemouth War Memorial Homes is now an estate of 59 properties providing affordable housing to veterans in need at their site in Bournemouth.

Applicants must have served in the UK armed forces, including the Merchant Navy, or be the widow or widower of someone who served. Application forms are available on their website.

Once you’ve applied for housing and if your eligibility is confirmed, you will be interviewed and your application scored to be placed on their waiting list. Their waiting list is determined by need.

Tenancies are offered with a discounted rent, which is currently 30% of the commercial rental value.

There is also the possibility of applying for a trustees’ grant in times of financial hardship.

Accommodation is short to medium-term.
