Time management team learning packs

Find out about these free learning packs to help teams to build practical time management skills together.

What are Time management team learning packs?

Time management - team learning packs are free resources for civil servants who want to improve how they manage their workload and learn from colleagues through shared discussion.

The packs are designed to be used flexibly, allowing teams to work through topics at their own pace and revisit conversations to see how suggestions have been put into practice.

Who are they for

The packs are suitable for civil servants at any grade who want to develop their time management skills. They are designed for team use, making them particularly useful for line managers looking to support their team’s professional development through structured group learning.

What the packs cover

There are two packs, each containing three modules of 20 to 30 minutes.

Pack 1: Prioritisation tips and techniques

Covers practical frameworks for managing competing demands, including the Eisenhower matrix, the MoSCoW method, and techniques for negotiating deadlines.

Pack 2: Time management and me

Explores personal time management challenges, including overcoming procrastination, the myth of multitasking, and strategies for maintaining energy throughout the working day.

How the resources work

The packs are designed for group discussion and do not require prior facilitation experience. Each pack includes a PowerPoint presentation and a facilitator’s guidance document to help steer conversations.

We recommend selecting the modules most relevant to your team and working through them one at a time across a series of sessions, rather than all at once.

A short feedback survey is included so you can share your experience of the packs.

Time commitment

Each pack takes approximately one hour to complete across its three modules, with each module designed to take 20 to 30 minutes. Both packs together take around two hours and 20 minutes in total, including the feedback survey.

How to access

Both packs are available free of charge on Civil Service Learning.
