Mr Swayne said: “I am very pleased to be visiting Jordan again. I can assure you all that the British people and the British Government stand shoulder to shoulder with the Jordanian people and their Government with a shared determination to address these challenges. The UK is committed to providing wide ranging support to help Jordan deal with the immediate crisis as well as supporting Jordan’s longer term development and growth. We recently announced a further £100m in aid for Syrian refugees and the countries hosting them, which include £18.5 million for Jordan. This is additional to the more than £220 million we have provided since the start of the Syria crisis.”
