Investment of £10.4 billion in critical projects in the Philippines to support energy security offers opportunities for UK companies.

UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) Manila is organising an Energy Trade Mission to the Philippines led by Trade Envoy George Freeman, MP on 16 to 19 June 2014. This is to support UK companies interested in winning business in the Philippines’ power and energy market.


There are opportunities in:

  • power and renewable energy
  • oil and gas
  • transmission and distribution
  • energy efficiency

Trade mission

Participation in the trade mission will provide a deeper understanding of the commercial opportunities in the Philippines.

Activities include:

  • market and industry briefings
  • business seminar
  • targeted meetings
  • networking receptions
  • participation in conferences


The Philippines is one of the fastest growing economies in Asia and also fast becoming an attractive trade and investment destination for power related projects.

It is estimated that £10.4 billion in fresh investment is needed between 2013 and 2016. This will enable the roll out of critical infrastructure projects and various programs to ensure national energy security.
