Voting in Greece and in the UK for the Municipal and European Elections 2014

European Union nationals residing in Greece are entitled to exercise their right to vote and to stand as a candidate in the municipal elections and elections to the European Parliament of 2014 either in their country of residence or in their country of origin (Council Directive 94/80/EC). They cannot, however, vote more than once at the same elections.

Voting in Greece

British nationals who reside in Greece and wish to vote in Greece should register with the municipal electoral roll by 28 February 2014. They need to show their valid passport and complete the relevant form.

Please note that EU nationals shall not exercise the right to vote and to stand as a candidate in regional elections, but only in municipal elections and elections to the European Parliament.

Voting in the UK

British nationals who reside in Greece and have been registered to vote in the UK within the last 15 years are eligible to vote in UK Parliamentary (general) Elections and European Parliamentary Elections in person, by post or by proxy.
