Ambassador Mark Canning said:

The UK is firmly committed to strengthening further our excellent relationship with Indonesia. The Prime Minister’s visit to Jakarta and the State Visit by President Yudhoyono to the UK last year, on the invitation by Her Majesty The Queen, did a huge amount to deepen the UK-Indonesia relationship where both leaders agreed a target of doubling the trade by 2015 to £4.4bn. The visit by His Royal Highness the Duke of York will build on the momentum of these historical events, and substantially strengthen the UK relationship with Indonesia.
