Confederation of British Industry (CBI) delegates due in Bangladesh
CBI will meet with policy think-tanks, business leaders, and academics. UKTI, the commercial arm of the UK Government in Bangladesh will also host a networking event with the leading British Business community in Bangladesh to share ideas and experiences of operating in the region.
The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) is making its first visit to Bangladesh on 7 September. Simon Moore, CBI’s International Director and Shehla Hasan, CBI India Country Head and Policy Director will be in Dhaka for two days and will meet with policy think-tanks, business leaders, and academics. UK Trade and Investment, the commercial arm of the UK Government in Bangladesh will also host a networking event with the leading British Business community in Bangladesh to share ideas and experiences of operating in the region.
Acting British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Mark Clayton said:
“I am delighted a delegation from the CBI is visiting Bangladesh. There is a long standing and rich relationship between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom and I hope the CBI’s visit will help further strengthen the trade opportunities for UK businesses in Bangladesh. The UK is one of the largest investors in Bangladesh and also the third single largest destination for exports from Bangladesh.’’
The CBI communicates the British business voice around the world. Across the UK, CBI speaks on behalf of 190,000 businesses of all sizes and sectors which together employ nearly 7 million people, about one third of the private sector-employed workforce.

Simon Moore is the International Director for the CBI and his is responsible for the work of the CBI in support of its members, primarily in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and North & South America.
