To be held on 13 and 14 October, Chile Day is the premier international event for the promotion of Chile’s financial market abroad.

The British Ambassador to Chile, Fiona Clouder, joined Chilean Finance Minister Alberto Arenas on Thursday 3 July for the launch of Chile Day 2014. Also present were the Chile Day organising committee, Inbest. Chile Day is the premier international event for the promotion of Chile’s financial market abroad. This year, the Chile Day will be held in London on 13 and 14 October 2014.

On occasion of the launch, Ambassador Clouder said:

Thanks to Minister Arenas for inviting me here to be part of the launch of Chile Day 2014

I’m delighted that Chile Day is returning to London this year. The bilateral relationship of the UK with Chile is very special and British Ministers want to develop joint events such as Chile Day to maintain and deepen our commercial and political ties.

There are strong commercial ties between the UK and Chile, and we hope that Chile Day 2014 will lead to further development of trade and investment between our countries. We see Chile as a key country in the region for developing our commercial relations.

It also makes good business sense for Chile Day to be returning to London – the financial capital of the world. London was ranked first in the Global Financial Centres Index survey of international financial centres. It hosts more foreign bank branches or subsidiaries than other country in the world.

Thanks to all for attending today. I’d like to reiterate the UK’s commitment to making Chile Day 2014 the most successful one yet.
