Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The programme makes awards to talented professionals with leadership potential from around the world to study postgraduate courses at universities in the UK.

The Scholarships not only offer financial support to study for a Master’s degree at the UK’s leading universities, but the opportunity to become part of an influential and highly regarded global network of over 43,000 Chevening alumni. Chevening Scholars come from more than 150 countries and territories worldwide (excluding the USA and the EU), and this year the programme will support more than 1500 individuals.

Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Chile, Fiona Clouder said:

The value of education and of people-to-people links is very important for the United Kingdom and Chile. For these reasons the Chevening scheme has been going from strength to strength. Over 200 Chevening scholars have been part of the scheme from Chile and it is very impressive to see that many have now gone on to become government Ministers, senior officials, academics, leading businessmen or social leaders, in a wide variety of sectors.
