British smart grid companies exhibit at India Smart Grid Week

UK companies look for Indian partners in the energy sector.

The UK Department for International Trade (DIT) in partnership with British Electrotechnical and Allied Manufacturers Association (BEAMA) is bringing a smart grid trade mission to India Smart Grid Week (ISGW) from 7 to 10 March 2017 in New Delhi.

The British smart grid delegation comprises 9 smart grid companies along with BEAMA, the UK’s leading trade association. The participating companies range from smart meter manufacturers, to communication technology, data analytics, financing and software solution providers. The companies will be exhibiting at ISGW. This is the second year the UK has had a presence and is the largest delegation from the UK to participate at ISGW.

I am delighted to be working with BEAMA for the second year in a row to bring a focused business delegation to India Smart Grid Week. The UK companies I have met this week have a wealth of skills, services and technologies within and beyond the smart grids projects – and they are interested in working with Indian partners to ensure efficient and reliable energy for all.

This trade mission falls just one month ahead of the visit of Greg Clark to New Delhi on 6 to 7 April. As Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, he will be meeting his ministerial counterparts in New Delhi, who are hosting him for the inaugural India-UK Energy Dialogue. I look forward to welcoming more fantastic UK companies to this inaugural Dialogue.

UK businesses are here to showcase their smart grid capabilities along with a solution-based approach to the exciting Indian market opportunity. BEAMA represents technology companies producing a range of infrastructure assets required for a smart energy system. They have established strong working relations with Indian utilities and we are looking forward to forging stronger business ties with Indian businesses through the conference.
