British government promotes strong commitment to Chile at FIDAE

The UK is offering a significant range of world class products across the air, land, maritime and security sectors.

Partnership, disaster relief, industrial cooperation and innovation are the main UK themes as UK companies exhibit a range of world beating defence capabilities at FIDAE 2016, some attending for the first time, others as a result of having exhibited at a successful FIDAE 2014.

This significant UK presence reflects the strong commitment that UK companies have to Chile, the Armed Forces and the region. The UK interest is keen to develop existing relationships and build new industrial partnerships.

The UK delegation includes Air Marshal Greg Bagwell, Deputy Commander Operations Royal Air Force, accompanied by Air Vice Marshal Nigel Maddox, Senior Military Adviser UKTI DSO and Arfan Chaudhry, Assistant Regional Director for The Americas UKTI DSO.

The UK has a significant range of world class products across the air, land, maritime and security sectors and the UK Government is keen to respond with the support of UK Industry to the regional modernisation of armed forces and any future requirements.

Arfan Chaudhry Assistant Director for the Americas said:

I am delighted to be back at FIDAE and supporting UK companies exhibiting at FIDAE, highlighting their capabilities in the defence, security and space sectors. The UK’s presence demonstrates its strong commitment to Chile. We hope that UK and Chilean companies can work together with the aim of creating joint ventures and industrial partnerships and I am extremely keen to discuss areas of interest with the Chilean MOD and Armed Forces.
