Tim is very motivated for this challenge and aims to support two key foundations with his run - ‘Sport helps’ and ‘Help for Heroes’. He would like to cover this distance in just 3 days, which means he has to run a distance of over 2 marathons each day.

Tim commented:

Why has the route from Prague to Vyškov been chosen? The simple explanation for this is that although the British embassy is based in Prague, the Moravia region is just as important for us too. To celebrate the importance of the Moravia region we have organized a reception to mark The Queen’s birthday in Brno this year. This reception will be in addition to the one that we traditionally have in Prague. Having an event such as this in Brno gives us the opportunity to become even closer to our Moravian contacts.

Tim will start his 3-day run from the gate of the British embassy on Saturday 25 May at 7am and it will end when he finally reaches the Military Academy in Vyškov as this is where the British Military Advisory and Training Team is based. There are British troops working alongside their Czech colleagues helping them to develop their military skills through education and training agreements. Sports Direct kindly donated Tim’s trainers to help him complete the run. Tesco will also provide him with some food for the journey.

Tim added:

Although I have to do the training myself, I’m glad that British companies have not left me high and dry. Many have kindly donated financial or material gifts for the foundations that I am running for.

If anyone wants to join Tim on his run or wants to support his challenge, including raising funds for the foundations he is supporting, you can contact him on his Facebook profile where he prepares online coverage of his trip.
