Baroness Verma's visit to Kolkata 4-7 July
The Rt. Hon’ble Baroness Verma, Minister, from UK’s Department of Energy and Climate visited Kolkata 4-7 July.
Baroness Verma attended two events on climate change - one at the MCC Chamber of Commerce and the other organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
The events saw a large attendance from local business people and media.
Baroness Verma reiterated the UK’s commitment to work closely with India on renewable energy and energy efficiency.
She said that addressing the challenges of climate change with the help of cleaner technologies could be a driver of prosperity for India. She also mentioned that the UK stood ready to work with India, share cleaner technologies and support India in harnessing energy from renewable sources.
