Trends in abundance and species richness of pollinating insect groups for GB

Details

The UK Pollinator Monitoring Scheme (PoMS) is a citizen science monitoring programme using standardised methods to collect annual data on pollinating insects. The statistics here describe changes for broad insect groups and for species richness of bees and hoverflies. Understanding how insect pollinator populations are changing is important because these groups play a key role in many natural and agricultural systems.

PoMS is a partnership funded jointly by UKCEH and by JNCC (through funding from Defra, Scottish Government, Welsh Government, and DAERA). UKPoMS is indebted to all volunteers who contribute data to the scheme across the UK, and to landowners who allow access for surveys.
