Details

This bulletin reports on key statistics relating to the average daily prison population levels and receptions for Northern Ireland during the 2020/21 financial year. It includes information by establishment, custody type, gender, age and sentence length and principal offence categories. The report also includes some international data for comparison purposes, as well as analysing trend data for the key statistics. The data used in this bulletin are taken from the Northern Ireland Prison Service Management Information System (PRISM). Details on the methodology used, data validation and definition of terms can be found in the Methodology and Counting Rules section at the back of this bulletin.
