Qualifications and destinations of Northern Ireland school leavers 2018-19

This statistical release presents an analysis of GCSE and A level examination performance and destinations for pupils leaving post-primary schools in 2018-19. Following the coronavirus outbreak, school closures resulted in a delay in validating data with schools; as a consequence, the publication has been delayed from June to August.

The purpose of this statistical release is to present an analysis of GCSE and A level examination performance and destinations for pupils leaving post-primary schools in 2018-19. The data are at individual pupil level and also contain pupil characteristics such as their ethnicity, religion or free school meal eligibility. With the dataset being at pupil level and the home postcode of each pupil recorded, spatial analysis can be undertaken on the qualifications and destinations of NI school leavers.
