This report presents statistics on suspensions and expulsions during the 2023/24 academic year and relate to pupils of compulsory school age, for brevity referred to as pupils in the body of this report, in primary, post-primary and special schools across Northern Ireland. The report includes: • the number and percentage of pupils suspended • characteristics of suspended pupils and the schools they attended • reasons why pupils were suspended • the number and percentage of expelled pupils.
