Northern Ireland Youth Justice Agency Annual Workload Statistics 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025

This publication provides an overview of the workload of the Youth Justice Agency from 2020/21 to 2024/25 providing descriptive analysis of trends on a range of demographics, including some Section 75 characteristics and care status of individual children/referrals to YJS and of individuals/admissions/movements in custody.

This bulletin presents an overview of the number of young people engaged through PSNI referral schemes, referrals to Youth Justice Services (YJS), and those admitted to custody. It also outlines the volume of PSNI scheme referrals and YJS referrals received, and admissions and internal movements within the Juvenile Justice Centre (JJC).  Figures relating to PSNI referral schemes are provided for the 2024/25 reporting year, while data on referrals to YJS and activity within JJC are provided across a five year period.
