This is the first in a series of thematic reports based on data from the Northern Ireland House Condition Survey (NIHCS) 2023. It is the first time NIHCS statistics have been presented in this way. The decision to move from one large report to a series of smaller reports was made following a consultation process with statistics users.
This publication presents the demographic, economic and social profile of households in Northern Ireland in 2023. It explores differences by tenure and, where possible, provides comparisons with the 2016 survey. It also provides information relating to key features of occupied dwellings in Northern Ireland such as accessibility, adaptations and internet access.
