These data are produced from an extract of the Northern Ireland element of the Inter Departmental Business Register (IDBR). The accompanying tables provide counts of businesses registered for VAT and/or operating a PAYE scheme broken down by Standard Industrial Classification (SIC), geography, legal status, and employee and turnover size bands. The tables also provide details of foreign-owned businesses operating in Northern Ireland.
