Method of travel to and from school by pupils in Northern Ireland 2018/19

This report presents findings from the 2018/19 Continuous Household Survey in relation to methods of travel to and from school by pupils in Northern Ireland. In particular, the proportion of primary school and post-primary school pupils who walk and cycle to school.

Details

DfI first inserted questions in the Northern Ireland Continuous Household Survey (CHS) in 2013/14 to ascertain how primary and post-primary school pupils travel to and from school and these questions have been asked each year since. The findings are reported in this publication. Statistics are presented on all modes of travel, the main modes of travel, and the main modes of travel by distance from school.
