The booklet contains facts and figures which describe the intellectual property landscape and provides information on:

• trade marks
• designs
• copyright
• enforcement
• the IPO

The UK’s total annual investment in intellectual property rights (patents, designs, trade marks, copyright) is vast, over 4% of our Gross domestic product. In 2011, UK firms invested an estimated £126.8 billion in knowledge assets, compared to £88 billion in tangible assets such as buildings or machinery.

The booklet is a companion that can be used in briefings, speeches, discussions with stakeholders or statements to the media and general public.
