Hospital Accident & Emergency Activity - 2019-20
This will be a joint publication with NHS England. The joint production will draw on NHS England’s monthly A&E data as well as NHS Digital's HES A&E data and in so doing will aim to create a more coherent picture of the A&E landscape. This will also look to incorporate more data from ECDS as the future publication source.

This report presents results from collaborative work undertaken by NHS Digital and NHS Improvement to continue and expand the collection of pilot data on acute patient-level costing for accident and emergency, admitted patient care and outpatient activity that occurred in 2019-20. It includes analysis of costing data linked to activity reported in HES, demonstrating the richer analysis of costing data that is possible using the linked data.
