UK trade in goods: insights into the determinants of trade
Key trends in regards to the determinants of UK trade between 1998 to 2018, by country. In particular, identifying how the significance of key determinants of trade (e.g. distance, population, wealth, infrastructure, rule of law and exchange rates) have changed over time by traded commodity. To our knowledge, this is the first time the UK's new trade in goods by commodity by country dataset will be exploited in this way. This work follows on from requests by our users in other government departments.
