Reason for change:: ***Update: 14/05/19 – As you may know, the publication of the Northern Ireland Tourism Statistics and Air Passenger Flow Publications have been on hold since October 18 due to delay in the provision of key data from Central Statistics Office (CSO). In the previous update, it was noted that NISRA Tourism Statistics Branch had received data from CSO and we have been working with them to assess its quality. This process has taken longer than expected, however we have now finished the assessment and have concluded that the data is of sufficient quality for us to report on. Therefore we are pleased to say that we are now in a position to publish again. The publication date of the 2018 Northern Ireland Annual Tourism Statistics will be Thursday 6th June 2019 at 9:30am. This includes the full list of satellite publications as well as the Air Passenger Flow publication. As CSO plan a future review of their methodology, there will be note relating to their part of the data, labelling it as “interim data that may be subject to future revision” and users will also be made aware of the changes to their methodology. We once again apologise for the delay and inconvenience it caused. *The data from CSO provides information on residents from the Republic of Ireland taking overnight trips in Northern Ireland. This information is an important part of the overall statistical picture of tourism in Northern Ireland. ***
