This bulletin presents the latest figures on looked after children in Northern Ireland, including the educational achievements of these children as well as religious background, ethnicity, disability, placement, health, economic activity and criminal convictions of children looked after continuously for 12 months or more at 30 September each year. Comparisons are included where possible with the general Northern Ireland population and with looked after children in other UK countries.
