From 1 April, Monitor is part of NHS Improvement

1. Holidays

All staff enjoy a generous annual leave allowance. Permanent staff receive 30 days’ holiday and the normal 8 public holidays, as well as 2.5 extra government privilege days (to be taken at specified times in the year). This allowance is pro-rated for part-time employees. We also offer all employees the opportunity to buy and sell up to 3 days’ annual leave.

2. Pension

As soon as you start your new job, you are eligible to join the Civil Service pension scheme.

3. Professional development programme

We provide a comprehensive learning and development programme to help each employee grow professionally. We are committed to communicating our objectives, strategy and plans to all employees, so each person understands their role in making a difference for patients.

4. Professional membership fees

We will pay the full cost of one annual professional membership subscription.

5. Easy-access location

Monitor’s office is based at Wellington House, 133 to 155 Waterloo Road, London, SE1 8UG, near Waterloo. This location is served by excellent transport links.

6. Interest-free season ticket loans

Monitor offers an interest-free loan that is repayable by 12 monthly instalments available to employees after 3 months’ service

7. Ride-to-work scheme

In line with our corporate social responsibility agenda, staff who want to cycle to work can purchase a bicycle from their pre-tax salary, saving up to 40% on the overall cost, available to all permanent employees after 3 months’ service.

8. Childcare vouchers

We offer a flexible way to help meet the costs of childcare through Computer Share Vouchers where part of an employee’s salary can be exchanged for childcare vouchers.

9. Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)

We offer an employee assistance programme which provides an independent and completely confidential telephone counselling service for all staff available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is staffed by fully trained counsellors.

10. Membership of the Civil Service Sports and Social Club and Gym Membership

CSSC sports and leisure is the largest provider of corporate leisure and fitness facilities in the UK. It has over 135,000 members drawn from Civil Service departments, executive agencies and related organisations such as BT and Royal Mail. Monitor offers an interest-free loan towards gym membership that’s repayable by 12 monthly instalments, available to employees after 3 months’ service. All Monitor employees can join.

11. Social events

An active programme of social events throughout the year, organised by Monitor’s social committee.

12. Opportunities to give something back

Our staff are very active in organising events to raise funds for charity and volunteering. We make a number of donations to our charity, selected by our employees.

13. Wellbeing

We contribute towards eye tests. A contribution will also be made where glasses are needed for VDU-use only. We have an expanding programme of wellbeing events for staff.

14. On-site cafe

Affordable, healthy meals and snacks available.
