Item 1: Welcome
The Chairman welcomed the Steering Board and introductions were made.
Item 2: Minutes and actions from previous meeting
The minutes from the December 2021 meeting were confirmed as accurate.
Item 3: Updates
UK NCP Steering Board appointment process
Thanks were extended to current Steering Board members who continue with tenure until the appointments process is concluded.
Review of procedural review guidelines
The review committee were thanked for their completion of the Bonsucro Procedural Review Report last year.
Periodic review of Rules of Procedure
The UK NCP explained the process to undertake periodic review of the Rules of Procedure.
Item 4: UK NCP case update
The UK NCP updated the Board on its current caseload.
The UK NCP updated on 1 new complaint.
Cases published in January 2022 include:
- final statement of the IDI, EC and LICADHO complaint to UK NCP about Bonsucro Ltd and the Procedural Review report
- initial assessment of the GLAN complaint to UK NCP about Anglo American
The ICC Steering Board member declared a conflict of interest relating to 1 case.
Item 5: Update on UK NCP stakeholder engagement
Update on the UK NCP Stakeholder Engagement Plan 2022 to 2025
The UK NCP provided an update on the stakeholder engagement and promotion plan and other promotional activities.
Item 6: Update on UK NCP stakeholder engagement
Working Party on Responsible Business Conduct (WPRBC) and NCP network updates
Board Members were updated on the OECD WPRBC and stocktake.
The OECD Ministerial on RBC in December 2022
The UK NCP gave an update on their plans for participation in the upcoming OECD Ministerial on RBC in December 2022 (The ministerial meeting has now been moved to February 2023.)
Peer review
The UK NCP provided feedback on the peer review exercise with Brazil.
