This chapter will enhance the opportunities for women to access the full benefits of the UK-India free trade agreement. It will also advance women’s economic empowerment and promote gender equality through trade.

This chapter creates the space for the UK and India to work together to support women business owners, entrepreneurs, and workers to fully access and benefit from the opportunities created by this agreement.

The agreement is not yet in force. Both the UK and India are required to complete their respective domestic procedures for the agreement to come into effect. Once ratified by both countries, businesses will be able to trade under its terms.
