1. What this notice is about?
This notice is published by the Secretary for State for International Trade and the legal basis for this notice is regulation 17 of the Trade Preference Scheme (EU Exit) Regulations 2020 (S.I. 2020/1438) (‘the Regulations’).
The Republic of Uzbekistan has qualified for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland’s (‘the UK’) Enhanced Framework and is to be treated as an Enhanced Framework country under the UK’s Generalised Scheme of Preferences (‘GSP’).
2. Admitted countries
The following countries will be admitted to the UK’s Enhanced Framework:
- Republic of Uzbekistan
3. Date of admission and validity
This admission starts on 01 November 2021. This notice is valid until 11.59pm on 31 December 2021 following which it will be included in Part 2 of Schedule 1 to the Regulations.
4. Reasons for admission
Uzbekistan has met the criteria set out in regulation 15(1)(a) to (c) of the Regulations and does not need to take further steps.
