Details

The countervailing duty on organic coated steel products from China was imposed by the EU on behalf of the UK and the other member states. The Secretary of State for International Trade transitioned the countervailing duty to continue applying in the UK after the transition period.

A transition review of the countervailing duty was initiated on 15 April 2024. The Trade Remedies Authority made recommendations on 16 July 2025.

The Secretary of State for Business and Trade has accepted a recommendation made by the Trade Remedies Authority, and is giving effect to that recommendation, under regulation 101C(2)(a) of the Trade Remedies (Dumping and Subsidisation) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 so that the countervailing measure on organic coated steel products is extended.
