The Forensic Science Regulator, in partnership with the Royal College of Pathologists, has published guidance on the use of time of death estimations based on heat loss from the body. There are a number of methods of time of death estimation based on different post mortem changes to the body. This guidance applies only to those based on heat loss from the body.
