A copy of the letter from Lee Rowley MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Local Government and Building Safety, to the Thurrock Commissioners in response to their second report.
The Minister notes the progress made in the intervention so far and sets out the changes he has made to the Commissioner model, to move to a model of 3 standalone Commissioners. The Minister also sets out his decision to make an order under section 86 of the Local Government Act 2000 to move Thurrock Council to a scheme of whole council elections from May 2025 onwards.
