This is our first monitoring report on the government’s 25 Year Environment Plan.

It sets out six building blocks we consider essential to national level environmental stewardship. These are:

  • understanding environmental drivers and pressures
  • creating a vision
  • setting targets
  • coherent strategy and policy
  • governance
  • monitoring, assessing and reporting

This report was presented to Parliament pursuant to Section 29(2) of the Environment Act 2021.
