Following the publication the Animals in Science Committee’s (ASC) advice on strengthening leading practice in the animals in science sector, Lord Hanson of Flint has written to Dr Sally Robinson to set out the Home Office response. This letter outlines the breadth and complexity of a number of the recommendations, and the importance of taking a coordinated, evidence-based approach in the Home Office response.

This initial response will be followed by a fuller response on the recommendations in the report by the end of September 2026.
