STAC: Call for New Members

The UK Space Agency is seeking nominations for 2 new members of the Space Technology Advisory Committee (STAC), with particular interest in candidates with expertise in national defence and security.
STAC brings together representatives from industry, academia and the UK Space Agency. In this round, the Agency is especially keen to strengthen the Committee’s expertise in national defence and security.
The Committee advises the Agency on space technology direction and influence - this will also include matters relevant to national defence and security, covering hardware and software - as well as themes in space technology and roadmaps that support wider UK Space Agency ambition.
This list is not exhaustive but includes areas such as:
- UK involvement in space technology developments
- national defence and security
- potential spin-out and spin-in activities
- technology delivery, policy and strategy
- UK, ESA, Harmonisation. Standards and other technology priorities
- the wider social and industrial context and potential for developing the UK skills base
Members will bring their knowledge and experience to help shape the Agency’s future space technology priorities.
Please apply by email, outlining your relevant experience (100 – 200 words) and brief relevant CV (maximum 2 pages). We are seeking 2 members with expertise in national defence and security from any area of the sector.
Meetings are held 3 times a year, roughly 4 months apart, although remote participation can be arranged where equipment allows.
